This concise analysis proposes changes to the congressional calendar that would provide “20 additional full session days and 18 fewer travel days as compared to the official 2023 House calendar.” The proposed calendar also would greatly reduce the thousands of committee scheduling conflicts, wherein legislators find themselves expected to attend hearings being conducted at the same time.
